WE'RE CELEBRATIES (sort of)

Check out the Web Site for the Lodge we stayed at in Patagonia, Chile. It is under the "Check it out" on the left. Click on "Patagonia Photos" on the menu to the left. See if you recognize anyone.

Dancing Rototiller

This is what happens when you try to have a nice lawn in our neighborhood. The rototiller "dances" over all the rocks. Notice the assortment of rocks behind Darrin. These were tossed out as we dug. There were twice as many when we were all finished. Maybe we will put in a cobblestone path?! I have been coaxing a lawn in our back yard for 3 years now. Darrin says I'm the only person he has ever seen lying in the grass picking weeds one blade at a time. I have to say it is beginning to pay off. In our land of brown and dry, we have a little oasis of green. Hopefully, this new patch will be easier to grow. We have put a bird feeder at the far end of our back yard hoping the birds will flock there and leave our growing things alone. They go through a full feeder a day. It sure is expensive to be like our ancestors and live off the land. Seems a bit ironic. Ta Ta

Guilt Entry

I was looking at everyone's blogs and being mad that most have nothing new since last week, and then realized mine doesn't either, so "judge not that ye be not judged" right?! There is a lot happening but none of it seems exciting enough to post. My grass is growing. My garden is looking great. My kids are happy. My missionary is working hard. My air conditioner is working overtime. We have been experimenting with solar cooking lately. I have to say it has been very successful. We have cooked eggs, bacon, muffins, chicken, and cookies. It sure keeps the heat out of the kitchen. It takes only slightly longer than an electric oven. (on a sunny day) I need worthwhile things for my kids to do this summer. Any ideas?

Havasupai Hazards

Emily brought home a lovely token from her hiking trip. She has been to Havasupai twice before but only this time did she get a blister. And what a DOOSIE.
Jesse and Darrin and I went to Mesa and played. We had pizza at the mall and watched a movie at the IMAX.

Darrin captured some great bubble pictures of Jesse, Lori, and Tara. The girls are our relatives, but mostly our friends. Nice and Short this time. See me again soon!

...physically and mentally!
