Here we go again....

Darrin and I are taking a "business" trip this weekend. We are leaving right after Grandma's funeral. We are going to Lewes, Delaware. And, no, we are not paying for it. Great huh! It is a beautiful coastal village, pop. 3,800. Their claim to fame is that they are the 1st town in the 1st state. About as opposite of Arizona as you can get. We will be back late Tues. night. Here are some pics of the area.

LAST ONE FOR A LONG TIME!

Grandma Thelma Carpenter died this week after living 100+ years. Having 3 deaths in our family in 8 months is not something I would have ever chosen, but it has been ok. It takes a lot of effort to help someone leave this world. And then you get to plan the party. Putting together a funeral is a lot of work. I am exhausted. We joked with the mortuary about getting frequent flyer miles. No go. But they bend over backwards to get us anything we want. They are great. The funeral is friday morning at 10:00. Darrin and I are going on a "business" trip and fly out of Phoenix at 3:50 the same day. It will be frantic. It seems like that is how our life goes. Everything crams itself into the same week. After we get back, we have the Varsity Scout Triathlon. Darrin is the starting line chairman and I am the director. After that is Girls Camp. We are the head cooks. After that......I hope there is nothing. This is a picture of Grandma and my sisters at her 100th birthday party in December.

The chicken came first......

But now, we finally have the EGG. Just one and very little, but beatiful! I sound like a new mother. I guess I am sort of. We anticipate many more in the near future. YIPEE!

Spring Break

Spent 4 days playing with the fam. We went to the zoo, funtastics, movies, dinner, shopping, swimming, hot tubing, lazing, etc. Oh and we tried to go to the Temple to do baptisms, but......there was a ton of people there and we would have had to wait 2 + hours. :( So we took some fun pics instead. Emily's roommate Jeanie came with us.
Good Times.

For Emily

What is the significance of 6? I was tagged by Emily. Go to my documents/pictures...click on the 6th file, then the 6th picture and blog about it. Here goes.

This isn't as inviting as it looks. This is my Water Aerobics class that I teach at EAC. This pic was taken in November. I had 2 students still braving the water. My class was from 5-6 pm four days a week. In November the sun went down before the class was over. It was cold.

TAG! Anyone who wants to play!

Chicken Update

I know you are dying to know about my chickens......Well, no eggs yet. It should be soon. All the info I read says between 4-6 months and they are 5 months old. Aren't they huge?! Remember Amelia? She is the one that thinks she is a parrot. Here she is again on my shoulder. She actually got my earing this time and I had to retrieve it. We have fenced off the back part of the yard for them so they don't get into my grass and garden. I only have onions planted so far, but potatoes, zucchini, peas, tomatoes, asparagus, and squash are all around the corner. When the chickens get into the garden they scratch everything up. It makes me want to have fried chicken for dinner when they do that. I have worked too hard on my garden to let a bunch of birds dig it up. GRRRRR! I have lovely daffodils and crocuses in the front yard blooming. It seems kind of
early so I hope we don't have a late freeze. Ta Ta

...physically and mentally!
